Hello and welcome to your third Hungarian lesson! Today we’re going to continue our lesson around the topic of introduction and learn to express what we do for a living.
I hope that by the end of the lesson you will know the basics and express what you do day-by-day in a few sentences.
To help you with the pronounciation, I’ll add voice notes to the sentences.

Pt. 2 – Talking about your job in details
Let’s see what are the most useful phrases when we’re talking about our job!
Szeretem a munkám. – I love my job.
Jó a fizetésem. – My salary is good.
Kevés a fizetésem. – My salary is low.
Napi nyolc (8) órát dolgozok. – I work 8 hours a day.
Heti öt (5) napot dolgozok. – I work 5 days a week.
Minden nap dolgozok. – I work every day.
Munkahelyet szeretnék váltani. – I would like to change my workplace.
Szeretem a munkatársakat, jó velük dolgozni. – I like my coworkers, it’s good to work with them.
Most nem dolgozok, mert egyetemista vagyok. – I’m not working now, because I am a university student.
Orvosként dolgozom. – I work as a doctor.
Tanár vagyok. – I am a teacher.
Pt. 3 – Text: talking about your job
In this part you will read an example of a real life conversation based on what we’ve learned so far.

- Szia Tamás! Hogy vagy? Hol dolgozol?
- Szia András! Köszönöm, jól vagyok! Most egy irodában dolgozom, titkár vagyok. Te mivel foglalkozol?
- Én nyitottam egy saját üzletet, pék vagyok.
- Ez nagyon érdekes, gratulálok! Sokat dolgozol?
- Igen, minden nap, de nagyon szeretem a munkámat.
- Ezt jó hallani. Én munkahelyet szeretnék váltani. Kevés a fizetésem.
- Sajnálom. Sok sikert!
- Köszönöm! Szia, később beszélünk!
- Oké, szia!

- Hi Tamás (Thomas)! How are you? Where do you work?
- Hi András (Andrew)! Thanks, I’m good! I’m working in an office now, I’m a secretary. What do you do for a living?
